Municipal Land Transfer Tax

In June 2018, we partnered with the Toronto Real Estate Board to stop the spread of the MLTT to York Region. That tax would have added over $15,000 to the cost of a typical home in York Region. We said ‘no’ to the municipal land transfer tax back in 2015 and won – saving home buyers $1 billion/year. So, when it popped up again in York Region, OREA said no way and the Provincial Government agreed.
